Alassia NewShips Management Inc. was founded in Athens in 2009 to do one thing well: manage dry bulk vessels the way their owners would manage them. Today the company provides the full spectrum of ship management services, technical, crew, commercial, operational and HSQE, to a modern fleet of Panamax, Kamsarmax, Ultramax and Handymax bulk carriers trading worldwide.
The fleet we manage is overwhelmingly Japanese built or built to Japanese design, from yards including Oshima, Tsuneishi, Sasebo, Shin Kurushima and JMU, and Nakanishi building to Mitsui E&S Japan design, and is renewed continuously: recent years have brought newbuild deliveries from Oshima and Nakanishi, with further tonnage on order. Much of the fleet is committed to long term charters with major charterers, a deliberate choice that aligns our operations with counterparties who share our standards.

Our people and our reputation are our most important assets. Ashore, our teams work from a purpose-built office in Maroussi, Athens, on integrated systems that connect every department to every vessel. At sea, we invest in the training, welfare and development of our officers and ratings, and we keep the communication between ship and office open and direct. The result is what a risk-averse owner wants most: a crew pool that stays, and a shore team that knows its ships.
We are an accredited Great Place to Work and hold our annual Officers’ Conference in Manila, bringing sea staff and shore management together every year.
